HIRING! Remote Position - Account Manager – Personal and/or Commercial Insurance

For the up-beat and positive insurance professional with personal and/or commercial insurance experience this is an opportunity to work remotely while building a lucrative career with a successful and flexible company.  We are a small, established insurance agency located in Occidental.  We have served the West Sonoma County and Northern California for more than 40 years and have a reputation for delivering outstanding customer service.   
 
In this growth-oriented role you will provide quality service to our clients and cross sell within the existing book of business. This position will serve as the day-to-day liaison between Open Door Insurance, our partners / vendors and our customers.
 
Daily servicing of clients will include addressing various coverage issues, contract analysis, exposure analysis, routine coverage questions, problem solving, renewal management, preparation of formal proposals, checking and binding policies as well as new business development through cross and up-selling.

General Client Management

• Build and maintain constructive and effective relationships with clients by meeting and exceeding expectation.
• Provide consistent, accurate, timely, and pertinent communication to clients through “constant touch”, phone calls, e-mails, newsletter, etc.
• Respond to client inquiries/issues within the established timelines.
• Resolve/assist with any service or claims issues/questions.
• Assist in design of or independently design insurance plans for clients.
• Assist clients in making appropriate coverage changes; makes each contact a marketing opportunity.
• Conduct face to face meetings with the clients as necessary.
• Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions and exposures; document electronic files accordingly.
• Respond to clients’ needs by producing binders, certificates, policies and other related items accurately and on time.
• Monitor and review client satisfaction.
• Maintain up to date record of communication with client.
• Review policies.

Renewal

• As appropriate market, negotiate, prepare, and analyze alternative renewal options.
• Develop written, graphic, and electronic renewal material as appropriate.
• Input required information into our agency management system (TAM).

Account Management

• Know (or learn) the underwriting and rating procedure for all types of personal and/or commercial lines policies.
• Quote and sell personal and/or commercial line policies.
• Prepare proposals and applications, submit them to insured’s and carriers, obtain clients’ signatures on all applications, follow up to ensure timely responses.
• Remarket, contact clients and follow-up.
• Renew policies by agency standards.
• Maintain agency TAM files accurately and consistently documenting conversations in notes, sending confirmations to clients, adhering to all other automation procedures.
• Handle cancellations with care, legally saving all accounts possible with adherence to E&O guidelines.

Business Development

• Seek referrals from client base and follow-through to get new accounts.

Job Requirements

• Experience in personal lines and/or commercial lines client management.
• CA Insurance License.
• Mastery of personal and/or commercial insurance underwriting, coverage & rate analysis.
• In depth knowledge of insurance coverage’s and an ability to communicate this clearly to clients and underwriters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and self-manage work load.
